I'm playing with spreadsheets. I've organized all of my financial information into a single page, including a whole bunch of functions, like how many days have passed since I began recording, average expenses per day and per month, average income per day and per month, theoretical money saved per month. docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1YOBCE1fNTvFyp04vsSyXhClV2j0xBBCvgkj-KCbtljM/edit?usp=sharingI've learned that it takes about $1000 each month just to live, and if you're going to school, you won't make $1000 a month with a part-time job at the same time. Let alone pay for school. I'll be out of school for computer science in about 3 semesters.

Oh shit, and I'm north of the wall.
So, I've been working on a python based D&D character creator/ player. It's still pretty limited, but you can set basic stats and hero and race. It's designed to input physical dice roll, in order to keep the tactile core of the game. I've started with a bard and barbarian and have them functioning ok, "rage" has been annoying for having a single function to turn on and off. Now I'm down to the cleric and spells are super trick because some have quantitative effects and others are narrative... it's probably been about a month since I've last worked on it, but would anybody be interested in playing if I get it figured out?

Currently living in South Carolina with my wife and dog. Working at a hotel that is part of an old rice plantation. Mostly just being weird and anti-social, which explains mostly why I still log in here. Miss you dudes. Hope all is well.

Uhhh recently it's been a few times a week. Not sure why, just had a craving to read and remember some of the old threads. Typically it's not as often, maybe once or twice a month?

I usually log in a few times a year, just to see if the old crew has something interesting to muse about. Definitely a bit of nostalgia for the simpler times. I try not to dwell on the past too much, but there were some pretty fun times with the old tribe. Anyways you say you’re living in South Carolina these days, got to be hot as shit there right now? What drew you to that particular part of the country? Anyway hope you’re doing alright and your summer is going well.

Yeah I usually don't get too caught up with things, but it has certainly been interesting seeing where I/we've been compared to now. It's pretty amazing, really. I don't think many people have so many of their conversations documented in this way, even though social media has become so prevalent.
ANYWAY, Yes, South Carolina is hot as balls. I'm very thankful for A/C. We moved down here in 2015, my wife Caitlin (formerly Capper) went to school in North Carolina for Nuclear Engineering, and then got a job offer down here working for a government contractor, so we gave it a go and it's definitely had its ups and downs, but mostly ups for the majority of it.
Are you still in Alaska?

It is very interesting to see how my thoughts and options have changed over time. I don’t agree with most of what my younger self said and I hope that means that I’ve matured as a person. Every once in awhile it’s good to remind myself that everyone has said something stupid in their life, it just so happens that mine are documented on this site. I’d like to think we’ve all matured and become better people over time.
Anyways. Yeah I’m still in Alaska. Been here since 2011 met my wife here, bought a house, adopted a second dog, had a kid (she’s 3 1/2 as of today). We are thinking of moving down to the lower 48 in the next couple years to be closer to family, it kind of blows to drop a huge chunk of change to go visit family, and there is some political and social stuff going on up here that makes it a little less appealing to stay. The company my wife works for has offices spread all over the country so they are cool with her moving wherever so that’s a pretty big thing to not have to worry about. Stay cool down there Baerg!
